The Member Representing Delta North at National Assembly, Senator Ned Nwoko has bagged “Most Outstanding Legislator Award” in Nigeria with a promise to continue to advocate for good governance.
Presenting the award to the distinguished Senator at his resident in his hometown, Anioch North, the chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Delta state council, Comrade Churchill Oyowe alongside the state secretary, Comrade Victor Sorokwu said the award was to recognize him of his selfless contributions to good governance, humanity, and development.
In his response to the award, the distinguished Senator appreciated the Union for recognizing the role he played in the upper chamber.
He said, he would continue to advocate for good governance, adding that “being chosen as the MOST OUTSTANDING LEGISLATOR among many others is an encouragement to do more.
He maintained that the “recognition is a testament to my commitment to serving the people with humanity and ensuring accountability in governance.”
While Senator Nwoko reiterated his unwavering commitment to the creation of Anioma State, a long-standing aspiration of the people in Delta State. He explained that the new state would ensure balanced development and greater opportunities for the people of Delta.
On Creation of Anioma State, the senator noted that it is not about political affiliation but the freedom and development of his people, adding that his vision is to have two states, Anioma state and New Delta” with Warri as the capital.
While responding of his intention of detecting to All Progressives Congress, (APC), he said, “APC’s backing would help him achieve his goals for Anioma people and I need a platform that will support me in creating Anioma State and addressing infrastructure issues like the Asaba/Oko road and Okpai power projects. If PDP won’t help, I will go to APC, where they will support me in getting these things done,” Nwoko explained.
