The Orerokpe Campus of Southern Delta University, Ozoro, will hold her first distinguished scholar lecture on Thursday, 13th February 2026, at the university Auditorium.

The lecture titled “Cultural Constellations and Intersections in Virtual Space – Identifying Niches and Trajectories for National Development will be delivered by no less a distinguished personality than Professor Hope Oghenerukevwe Eghagha , Professor of African Literature in the Department of English, Faculty of Arts, University of Lagos, who is also a one time Commissioner for Higher Education in Delta state.

Also expected at the event are Professors Sunny Awhefeada, Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies Delta State University, Abraka, who delivered his inaugural lecture at Abraka a few weeks ago and Onajite Ojaruega, University Orator, Delta State University, Abraka both of whom are professors of African literature as discussants of the lecture.

While the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. J. S. Oboreh will be the chairman of the event, the Provost of Orerokpe Campus, Prof. Akpovughaye Taiga will be the chief host and Prof. Macaulay Mowarin, Dean Faculty of Arts, Orerokpe campus, who is the brain behind the event, will be the host.

The event promises to be robust as students of theatre arts and English and Literary Studies of the university will showcase their talents in entertainment of gusts at the lecture.

In a release signed by Dr. Jonathan Ekperusi, Ag. Dean, Faculty of Law, who is the chairman of the planning committee, the guests are expected to be seated by 11.00 am prompt.

The revered, foremost traditional ruler of Okpe Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Major General Felix Mujekperuo (Rtd) Orhue I, the Orodje Okpe kingdom, is expected as the royal father of the day.

With this academic masterpiece event, the new Faculties of Arts, Law, and Social Sciences of the Orerokpe campus of Southern Delta University, Ozoro that combined to organise this public lecture are poised to take the university to a greater height. lol
