STEP Training Inspired Entrepreneurial Spirit in Me, Says Enuma

By Gertrude Onyekachukwu-Uteh

ENUMA JENNIFER hails from Ndokwa East Local Government Area. She holds a BSc in Political Science and is the CEO of Jenny Joyful Catering Services. After years of joblessness, she enrolled in the Delta State Skills Training and Entrepreneurship Programme (STEP) in the 2016/2017 cycle in which she trained and established in Catering and Confectionery.

Four years after, an enthusiastic Jennifer could not hide her joy as she recounted the benefits of STEP in her family. Hear her.

“The training at Songhai Delta, Amukpe inspired me to be self-independent and reawakened the entrepreneurial spirit in me. I have achieved many things through catering service. Through it, I was able to renovate my mother’s house here in Warri. I work from home for now and receive calls from clients from time to time to cater for their guests.

“I have trained lots of school children in private schools and Christian women during their churches’ conventions. STEP improved my standard of living and made me self-reliant by increasing my capacity to think outside the box.

“Okowa’s Government has been consistent. Consistency is the ability to sustain the programme to date. I appreciate Governor Okowa’s tenacity in carrying on with the programme.”
