A suspected chemical explosion rocked the popular Ogbo Ogwu International Market, Bridge Head, Onitsha on Tuesday afternoon.

Tuesday’s explosion reportedly destroyed market shops and properties. At this time, four people have died.

When contacted, Anambra State Fire Service Managing Director Engr. Martin Agbili confirmed the fire and said it affected the Drug market.

While the cause of the fire is unknown, the Anambra Fire Chief said his men and other emergency services are at the scene.

The explosion caused some shops to collapse, trapping several people.
