Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan has in a keenly contested, near free and fair election retained his governorship mandate in Delta state in the next four years.

This followed the declaration of the complete results of the April 26, 2011 governorship election from the 25 local government areas in Delta state.

The state collation/returning officer for the governorship election in the state, Prof. Abhulimen Anao on Thursday, 28, 2011 declared Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan winner having polled the highest votes cast in the exercise at the INEC headquarters, Asaba.

Total votes garnered from the 25 local government areas indicates that Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan of PDP secured 525, 793 in 13 local governments against that of the DPP governorship candidate, Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru’s who got 433, 834 votes cast in 12 local governments.
