waccimaPresident of Warri Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (WACCIMA), Mr. Alex Sharta, has challenged the federal and state governments including individuals to strive towards establishing industries to boost youth employment in the country.

Sharta, who made the observation ahead of WACCIMA’s Golden Jubilee celebration said that industrialization remains the only solution Nigeria‘s ailing economy.

He urged Nigerians to look inward on how to internally solve the nation’s unemployment problems, just as WACCIMA has plans to launch he agricultural demonstration farm during the golden jubilee celebration scheduled to hold between April 25 to 26, 2013, at Wellington Hotel, Effurun.

To this extent, we are already at the small and medium scale industry desk and at our own level at WACCIMA we are trying to establish WACCIMA Industrial Park. All these are geared towards generating employment.”

He regretted that this sector has been abandoned and stressed on the need for  rethink.

“Agriculture is the greatest generator of employment at the grassroot level. And we are encouraging agriculture. Many industrialists belongs to this Chamber and we are also taking the initiative to establish WACCIMA Demonstration Farm which will be launched during the celebration.
