World Scout Day: Plans To Re-intergrate Movement In Delta Schools-Scout Co-ordinator

Delta North Scout Zonal Co-ordinator, Scouter Aniemeke Christopher, has said the movement aims at re-introducing and re-intergrating all the basic and important activities of the Scout movement in Delta state.

“We also have a well thought out plan to introduce Scout Organization in our various schools in Delta state.”

World Scout day is marked yearly every 22nd of February world wide by it’s member who are also called and known as Scouters.

The choice for the 22nd of February came into existence as a result of the founders birthday (Robert Baden-Powell) born in the year 1857 which happens to be that very day.

In an interview with the Delta North Scout Zonal Co-ordinator, Scouter Aniemeke Christopher, he said their aim for this year’s World Scout Day was to introduce and re-intergrate all the basic and important activities of the Scout movement and also to introduce Scout organization in schools in Delta state.

He also said they were in the state capital to enlighten Deltans on the importance of the movement and also educate them on the importance of the Nigerian flag in every government organization, admitting that the Nigerian flag signified the presence of government in every organization.

“The national flag was supposed to fly from 8am, marking the beginning of official work till 4pm, marking the close of official work on a daily basis.”
The Co-ordinator Delta North , Scouter Aniemeke however said in the case of emergencies, “the national flag flies at half mast.”

On his advise and message to Delta Youths, he called on them to shun every act of criminality and cultism, urging parents to always support their children and wards financially.

High point of the event was the presentation of posters with messages like “Keep Delta State Clean”, “Say No To Improper Dumping Of Refuse”, “I Love Scout”, “Great Delta Students, Be Prepared And Say No To Cultism” and “Say Yes To Scout”, “Keep Nigeria Flag Clean And Uphold It’s Rules -Say The Scout”, all powered by Delta State Scout Council (Delta North Zone).
