YAGEP Support Package Boosted My Farm Enterprise, Says Adagbon-Etman

-By Gertrude ONYEKACHUKWU-UTEH-

JOY ADAGBON-ETMAN is the CEO of Divine Agro-Chemicals. She is a professional crop farmer with a bachelor degree in Agriculture. She hails from Oshimili North Local Government Area. To expand and boost her farm produce, she enrolled and received support from the Delta State Government’s Youth Agricultural Entrepreneurs Programme (YAGEP) in the 2020/2021 cycle. She shares her experience how YAGEP helped to expand her farm business.

“Before now, I cultivated only cassava, vegetable, maize, melon and yam. I received support package comprising training and agrochemicals in terms of fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides and cash for land preparation and labour from YAGEP. With this support, I now have a rice farm and a cucumber farm in addition to my farm in other locations.

“The support package from YAGEP was a boost to my farm enterprise. My crops are all doing well. It enabled me to venture into rice farming. My vision is to become a major crop farmer and to cultivate on at least five acres of land. Agriculture is interesting and profitable.”
