The Presidency has announced the passage of the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari.

He died on Friday, April 17, 2020.

Kyari had tested positive to the ravaging COVID-19, and had been receiving treatment at undisclosed health facility.

The Chief of Staff to President Buhari, Mr.Abba Kyari is dead. In Twitter statements by Presidential Spokespersons, both Femi Adesina, Special Adviser on media and publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari.and Malam Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to the Muhammadu Buhari, respectively reads:

Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari, passes on. May God rest his soul. Amen. Funeral arrangements to be announced soon.

The Presidency regrets to announce the passage of the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari.

The deceased had tested positive to the ravaging COVID-19, and had been receiving treatment. But he died on Friday, April 17, 2020.

May God accept his soul.

Funeral arrangements will be announced shortly.
