A Councillorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State, Comrade Jeffery Sunday Mordi, has described the State Governor, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa as a political stabiliser and a visionary leader.
Comrade Mordi, popularly known as Olala, who made the description in Okpanam in an interview with journalists shortly after a mega rally of the PDP ahead of the forthcoming Local Government Council Elections, commended Governor Okowa for recording several giant strides in the infrastructural development of Okpanam community, particularly in the area of massive road constructions.
He commending the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Chief Patrick Ukah, for his inspiring roles towards the growth and development of Okpanam community.
The councillorship candidate described the rally as a day of reckoning and applauded his people for finding him worthy to represent them as their councillor, adding that they should vote for him and other PDP candidates in the forthcoming election, just as he promised not to compromise their expectations of him, if voted as the councillor representing them in the council.
Earlier, a former chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the area, who defected to the PDP during the rally, Honourable Ike Nwabuokwu, said that the decision to defect to PDP was borne out of the tremendous achievements of the Okowa administration, particularly the unprecedented transformation of the Okpanam Community, adding that the road near his father’s house had also been constructed among others.
Honourable Nwabuokwu, who was received during the PDP rally by the Delta North Chairman of the party, Honourable Moses Iduh, Oshimili North PDP Chairman, Chief Nduka Ogwuda and other stakeholders, including Deacon Johnway Ogbogu, as well as the party faithfuls, said that he had come back to his family and described Comrade Jeffery Mordi as a good choice for councillorship position, considering his numerous past achievements in the growth of the area.
