Hon. Daregha wants youth involvement in sports

In order to strengthen sports in the rural areas , Senior Special Assistant to Delta State Governor on Political Matters, Hon. Simeon Daregha charges young ones to cultivate the habit of being involved in sports, saying that sports and education have always  been twist together.

Speaking at Akugbene Grammar School , Akugbene, Bomadi Local Government Area , Delta State during her 32nd Inter-House Sports and Athletic Competition last weekend, Hon. Daregha who was the Chairman of Occasion stated that ” One of the prominent attributes that is essential in education is the ability to face the challenges, and participating in sports meliorates that trait”

The Governor’s Aids  pointed out that through participation in sports and games, a student gains various skills, experience and confidence that are helpful for developing their personality.

Hon. Daregha opined that Sports are a essential part of a student’s growth and development, it helps in the development of mental health and physical fitness of the body

In his words “Sport activities teach Discipline which is the hallmark of our day to day living , can be beneficial in all areas of life”

According to him, those involved in games are more likely to be active in the classroom as it ensures that one is prepared to deal with failures. Sports provide the chance to benefit from them.

Hon. Daregha used the opportunity to appealed to the three tiers of  government to deliberately invest in Sports, saying Sports is money spinning business, and critical sector of the economy if properly addressed.

He thanked the organizers of the Competition ( Akugbene Grammar School, Akugbene) for being thoughtful, saying the Governor, His Excellency Rt.. Hon. Sheriff  Oborewori who is so conversant with the political landscape of Delta State would truly bring true satisfaction to all Deltans irrespective of the location with his M.O.R.E Agency policy. He asked every one to be Peace and pray for the success of the present Administration.

Earlier, the Principal of Akugbene Grammar School, Akugbene, Mr Onomakpome . O. Vincent in his address said Sports in the present era, is not only a unifying factor of tribes races of the World. 

According to him, Sports promote friendship among competitors, builds a healthy mine within a healthy body frame, saying it’s prestigious profession of universal fame and honour.

He therefore urges  parents to always encourage their Children and Wards to participate in sporting activities.
