Delta @ 30: Iteire Reiterate The Call For Peace, Unity Of Delta State

ISOKO North local government Council Chairman, hon Christian Iteire has reiterated the call on the people of Delta State to be committed to the ideas of unity and peace, through efficient and effective management of differences and promote good neighborliness with fellow Deltans and Non Deltans.

Iteire made the call while felicitating with the Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, governor of Delta State, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the existence of Delta State.

He said, “Delta State remains first among equals in the comity of States in the nation, Nigeria, owing to the landmark achievements recorded in the areas of infrastructure, education, sports, arts and culture, health, transportation, agriculture, human capital development amongst others”

He attributed the success story of Delta State to the untiring efforts of the founding fathers, who laid solid foundation, and commended Governor Okowa for the developmental strides been witnessed in the State, even as he urged the State Government to continue to strive harder in deepening the legacies inherited from past leaders of the State.

The Council Chairman further urged Senator Okowa as Governor of Delta State to “continue to be fair, just, inclusive, equitable, and always adhere to the rule of Law in his administration’s decision and approach to Governance”

The council boss commended the people of Delta State for their patience, efforts and sacrifices to state building, and appealed to the people of the State to be more supportive by joining hands with the Delta State Government in contributing to the developmental agenda of the State.

Hon Iteire added that, “a state where tribes and tongues may differ but stands in brotherhood is where unity in diversity thrives”.
