Delta Teleclass Learning Program To Continue Till Resumption Of Schools – Ukah **Cautions Private School Owners On 3rd Term Online Lessons

Delta State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has said that the free teleclass learning programme on radio and television will continue to run till schools resume in the state for the benefit of the target audience which are the students.

A statement signed by the Commissioner in charge of the ministry, Chief Patrick Ukah, in Asaba yesterday (01/05/2029), revealed that after due consultation with stakeholders, the ministry wishes to encourage interested students to learn on the alternative online and media channels that may be provided by private institutions of learning.

Chief Ukah also said that following the conclusion of the first phase of the programme on Thursday, there will be repetition of previous topics till May 6, 2020 when the second phase will begin to run with new topics.

The Basic and Secondary Educated Commissioner cautioned private school owners in the state on their plans to start online classes for the 3rd term for their students.

He made it categorically clear that the academic calendar for the 2nd term has not been concluded, stressing that the academic calendar is the same for public and private schools in the state.

Chief Ukah said that once schools are reopened for academic activities, the ministry will release a revised academic calendar for the 2019/2020 academic year.
He stated that any private school that goes contrary to the approved academic calendar in the state will face severe sanctions from the state government.
