Delta PDP Campaign: Okowa Pledges All Inclusive Govt *Uduaghan Seeks Voters' Education

The Delta state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship flag bearer, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has promised to run an all inclusive government where Deltans will be consulted and be well informed about government activities.

Dr. Okowa made the pledge on Thursday when the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign train berthed at Warri South local government Area of Delta State.

Okowa, canvassing the votes of the people, described PDP as the most consistent political party in Nigeria with well defined programmes.

Earlier at the palace of the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse II,
Dr Okowa also promised that his administration will consolidate on peace and unity of Delta State, asserting, “God is with us in this project, we thank you for receiving us.”

Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State who introduced all the candidates of PDP in the general elections to the crowd that gathered at the Warri Township Stadium for the rally, called on Nigerians to re-elect President Goodluck Jonathan and vote for Senator Ifeanyi Okowa as Governor of Delta State.

Dr Uduaghan emphasized that all the candidates of the PDP should be voted for in the general elections for the gains of democracy to be sustained.

He also called for rigorous voters education to reduce the number of void votes in the forthcoming general elections.

According to Dr Uduaghan, the fixing of all the national elections in one day and that of the state elections on another day may confuse unenlightened voters.

He reiterated that voters deserved to know how to vote well ahead of the elections to avoid situations where there will be mix up of votes that could lead to void votes.

“Voters education is very necessary for prospective voters to know how to vote,” Governor Uduaghan said.

A former Minister of State, Defence, Dr Roland Oritsejafor, speaking at the palace, described Dr Okowa as a credible candidate.

“This party, PDP has always been in government and the governorship flag bearer has shown integrity, our expectation is very high and we know his predecessors have laid a foundation which will make him take Delta to greater heights,” he said.

Governor Uduaghan had earlier introduced all the candidates of the PDP in the general elections to the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse II who  gave them his royal blessings.
