Obi Lauds Peaceful NLC Elections … Congratulates Wabba

THE Chairman, Delta State Council of National Union of Road Transport Workers, Comrade Ifeanyi Obi has congratulated the newly elected President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Ayuba Wabba, describing the emergence of new leadership as progressive for the country.

Speaking in Asaba, Delta State yesterday, Comrade Obi said the newly elected Deputy President of NLC, Nasin Usman was possible because he carried all workers along in his activities.

While congratulating the Deputy President, Chief Obi said members of NURTW are proud of him, adding that he has done a lot for the progress of NURTW and that he will replicate such for all Nigerian workers.

Comrade Obi urged all workers in the country to shelve their differences as a result of the electoral process and support the new leadership of the union to enable all workers get dividends of genuine leadership.

“Our Deputy President built a Secretariat for NURTW, he attracted foreign training for us and repositioned the NURTW, he is going to do the same for Nigerian workers,” Comrade Obi said, adding, “all workers union in the country should team up with the new executive for them to succeed and for our benefits as workers.”

He assured that all the unions in the state are calm and workers are happy that the NLC elections have been held at the national levels peacefully.
